Reliable Fence Contractor
A Coquitlam Fencing Company You Can Trust
APNA Fencing and Landscaping has completed fencing projects throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley for more than two decades. Our work includes backyard privacy fences, replacement fences, strata perimeters and commercial security fencing.
Every job begins with a site assessment. We consider access, slope, existing structures, drainage, property lines and the intended use of the fence. You receive a practical recommendation before installation begins.
Our Fencing Materials
We install five fencing materials for Coquitlam homes, multi-unit properties and commercial sites. Each material has different strengths for privacy, security, maintenance and appearance.
Chain Link
Chain-link fence contractors provide an affordable and durable solution for yards, dog runs, sports areas, strata sites and commercial properties.
Composite
Composite fencing options offer a clean, modern finish with low maintenance. Composite resists moisture, rot and pests, making it a practical choice for privacy fencing.
Metal
Metal fences provide strength, security and a sharp appearance. They work well for homes, businesses, entry areas and properties that need visibility.
Vinyl
Vinyl privacy fencing gives homeowners a consistent finish without painting or staining. It is a strong option for low maintenance backyard privacy.
Wood
Custom wood fences bring natural warmth and flexible design options to Coquitlam yards. We can build wood fences for privacy, height, style and site conditions.
Landscaping for Coquitlam Yards

Coquitlam Fencing FAQs
Do I need a permit to build a fence in Coquitlam?
No, you do not need a permit to build a standard fence in Coquitlam. Under the City of Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw No. 3000, residential fences do not require a building permit, provided they strictly follow maximum height limits. Standard rules allow fences up to 1.8 meters (6 feet) in side and rear yards, 1.3 meters (4.3 feet) in front yards, and 1.0 meter (3.3 feet) on corner lots within 6 meters of an intersection to preserve driver visibility.
Can you install a fence on a sloped Coquitlam property?
Yes. Coquitlam has many sloped properties, especially around Burke Mountain, Westwood Plateau and areas near Como Lake. We can step panels down the grade or rack the fence to follow the slope. The right approach depends on the grade, material and the finished look you want.
Who is responsible for a fence on a shared property line?
It is best to speak with your neighbour before replacing or installing a shared fence. Coquitlam advises property owners to talk to neighbours before constructing or removing a fence and to ensure the fence is entirely within their own property boundaries. Permission is required to remove a shared fence, retaining wall or a fence located on a neighbour’s property.
How long does a Coquitlam fence installation take?
Many residential projects take a few days after materials are available. Timing depends on fence length, material, slope, access, old fence removal, weather and gate requirements. We provide a project schedule with your estimate.
Can you install gates with a new fence?
Yes. We install single gates, double gates and access gates for side yards, backyards, strata properties and commercial sites. We size each gate for the opening, intended use and clearance needed for smooth operation.
